I love that in this work I get to be deeply curious, compassionate, and helpful to others. As a life-long therapy client, I value the collaborative process of making positive change, which led me to want to guide others on their own paths toward transformation.
For my first master’s degree, I studied Jungian and post-Jungian expressive arts and active imagination to help improve creativity. Before that, I worked as a writer, actor, DJ, comic, and painter in New York City. During my second master’s program, I trained in individual and group counseling at a day care program for seniors with memory loss and their spouses. There, I practiced using expressive arts with clients, including music, singing, painting, yoga, dance, trivia, games, and talk therapy in small groups. These experiences later informed my creation of a weekly drama therapy group at an intensive outpatient program for LGBTQIA+ adults.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time outdoors with my dog, Gino, and enjoy creative writing, listening to audiobooks, and occasionally performing monologues at a monthly queer cabaret night.
