PATRICIA GATES, LMFT
As the Founder of Bridges Therapy, my focus is simple: making sure our clinicians feel supported so they can take great care of their clients. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 20 years, I know how meaningful—and how demanding—this work can be. I created Bridges to feel different: more supportive, more thoughtful, and more human behind the scenes.
My path here has been shaped by a mix of life experiences—growing up in different countries, studying History and Philosophy, serving in the Peace Corps in Mauritania, raising two children, and eventually finding my way back to school to become a therapist. I later had a private practice and served on the board of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, advocating for both clinicians and clients.
I feel really grateful to get to do this work every day, alongside such thoughtful and dedicated people.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me hiking in the Ojai Valley with my dogs, doing yoga or weight training, or enjoying local music and theater.
